BLESSED ARE THE BLAMELESS
Stella Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved,
The Bible says,
He (The Lord) delights in those whose ways are blameless (Proverbs 11:20).
In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil (Job 1:1). There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright (Job 1: 8): thus God Himself testified about this man.
We read in II Chronicles 19:11,
The Lord will be with the good." Dearly beloved, is your life pleasing to the Lord? Just think awhile! He will delight in you when you thus walk blameless.
The Bible says, If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31). Nothing can come against you when you walk blameless and when God is with you. As it is said, Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (I Peter 5:8), even if the devil comes against you, nothing can be done to you. The Lord will preserve you from all evil.
When problems and loss came one after the other in the life of Job, his wife said to him, "Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!" (Job 2:9). Her words would have caused him much agony. Yet his patience made him a blessed man in the end (James 5:11).
What do we read about Jobs close friends? The Bible says, A friend loves at all times
(Proverbs 17:17). This is a true friend. But Jobs friends reproached and ridiculed him.
Job held onto the Lord amidst all his sufferings. According to the promise of God,
He who trusts in the Lord will prosper (Proverbs 28:25), the Lord finally blessed him double fold (Job 42:10). The faith, hope and love that he had on the Lord did not go in vain but they rather brought him abundant blessings.
Let us also be firm in the Lord saying, We will trust Him. We will hold onto Him alone.
The Scripture says, Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him (James 1:12). As said in this verse, the one who fights the good fight of faith and overcomes shall receive the prize of eternal life. God shall bestow His favour and honour upon him.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I love You wholeheartedly. Help me to lead a life pleasing to You. Help me to trust in You at all times and live by faith. Bestow Your favour and honour upon me and give me the grace to receive the prize of eternal life.
In Your matchless name I pray,
Amen.
