CLAIM THE PROMISES OF GOD
Stella Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved,
God is faithful to fulfill His promises in your life.
Look at the life of Sarah, Abrahams wife, in the Bible! She had no child. She was past the age of childbearing; there was no chance for her to beget a child anymore! In that hopeless situation, she would have been depressed and in tears. Yet she and her husband remembered the Lords promise and clung on to it.
The Bible says, By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised (Hebrews 11:11).
The Lord is prepared to give His blessings to us. He has all good things in store for us. We need to hold fast to the promises of God given in the Bible and claim them for ourselves. But do you know the pitiable state of today? Many do not know about the promises given in the Bible. They read it for namesake but never read the promises diligently and carefully and claim them for themselves.
Dear ones, how much time and how do you read the Bible? Do you have the habit of claiming the promises as your own when you read them? Yes, this is the first thing that you need to do.
Recently, one of the leaders of the Esther Prayer Group shared with me the following: Once when she was travelling by bus, she was about to confront a dreadful situation. Totally frightened, she remembered a promise in the Bible and claimed it for herself. That very moment, a miracle happened there. She was delivered from that situation with the grace and help of God.
Yes, learn to follow the habit of reading the promises, memorizing them and claiming them as your own at times of such lack and wants in your life.
The Bible says, No matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through Him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God (2 Corinthians 1:20). Our God who has promised to bless us is trustworthy. All His promises are true. Trust in Him, claim His promises with faith and wait for His blessings. He shall certainly fulfill them in your life.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
You have all good things in store for us and promised to give them to us. I trust in Your precious promises. I hold fast to them and claim them for myself. I believe that You will fulfill them in my life. Grant me all the blessings which You have prepared for me.
In Your matchless name I pray,
Amen.
