DELIVERANCE OF THE LORD!
Paul Dhinakaran
My dear beloved,
Surely he (God) took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.
(Isaiah 53:4).
Many years ago, a prince of Germany paid a royal visit to England. He was given a banquet in the palace of the King of England.
He was shown the pictures of different kings who ruled Britain. King Henry, King Edward, King George and many more kings were painted on the canvas. At the end, there was a picture where the phrase "King of kings" was written. When the young German prince saw the picture, he was astonished. He was shocked and he began to stumble. He began to enquire, "Oh! Other kings wear golden crowns! He is the King of kings, but in his head He is wearing a crown of thorns! He has no scepter in his hand! Long strong nails are hammered into his palms! Other kings are arrayed in purple and fine linen. But the King of Kings is deprived of His clothes!
There are bruises all over His body! He is hanging on a cross! Who is this King of kings?". He was moved with compassion and wept bitterly. Then the other noble men of the king's court said to him, "He is Jesus, the manifestation of the Almighty God. He bore on Himself everyone's infirmities, iniquities, sorrows and curses. He had sacrificed Himself as a solution to the spiritual and physical woes of the people of the world. He is the King of kings! He destroyed all evil and triumphed over everything. He is the King of kings!"
When the prince heard this, he was moved to tears. "Oh! He has suffered so much to bear my trespasses and sorrow! Let me commit myself to Him, this King of kings!" Overwhelmed by remorse and sorrow, he offered himself to God as a living sacrifice. The godly sorrow he experienced brought life at the feet of Jesus! It has made him alive together with Christ. He returned to his country bearing Jesus in his heart. His throne was established firmly. His heart was completely filled with immense joy and peace and He enjoyed the gift of salvation everyday.
My dear one, God has provided the way of salvation because of His deep love for each one of us. That was the only way that we can have a close fellowship with him. No matter what you have done in the past, just commit yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ. His sacrifice is able to pay the penalty for your sins. He loves you so much and He wants you to be His own child!
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I thank and praise You for loving me unconditionally and dying on the cross for my sins. I desire to receive the greatest gift of salvation. Help me to know You more and more. I invite You into my life as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for forgiving me of all my sins and for the gift of eternal life. Help me to walk closer with You and enjoy Your presence in my everyday life.
In Your most precious Name I pray,
Amen.
