GOD OF ALL COMFORT!
Paul Dhinakaran
Beloved,
Many years ago, the wife of a Senior Official was afflicted with a horrible disease. Even after many medical tests, the doctors could not diagnose the disease. Ultimately, the psychiatrist examined her and concluded that the lady was overwhelmed by worries and anxieties. As she was suppressing her worries within her own mind and weeping silently over them, without sharing them with anyone else, she had become very ill. The doctors were able to see her worried heart, but not alleviate it; but God who sees the broken heart, is powerful enough to heal it also! He is looking at our hearts to wipe away our distress!
We read in Isaiah 38:3 about the King Hezekiah, who worshiped God faithfully, was 'sick and near death'. The prophet, Isaiah told him: "Thus says the Lord: 'Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live'''. The young kings heart was shattered; he turned his face the wall and prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. God saw the tears of his bitter heart, called Isaiah once again, and spoke to him: "Go and say to Hezekiah, 'Thus says the Lord ... "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; and I will add to your days fifteen years'." Isaiah informed the king of God's command; God added fifteen years to Hezekiah's life and wiped away his tears.
The term mourn means to experience deep grief. When our Lord came into this world with the name of 'Jesus', He proclaimed: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed "(Luke 4: 18) " ... to comfort all who mourn ... the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; ... " (Isaiah 61:2,3)
Dearly beloved, surrender yourself completely at the feet of the Lord for the Word of God says in Nahum 1:7 that He cares for those who believe in Him. Those who love God are known by Him (I Corinthians 8:3). The Lord sees your heart (Genesis 16:13). When you follow the Lord wholeheartedly, you shall surely receive His abundant and divine blessings.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Your only Son to this world to redeem us. I trust You wholeheartedly and I accept You as my personal Savior. I completely surrender myself at Your feet, Lord. Set me free from all my troubles and worries. Bestow Your divine favour upon me and satisfy me with Your goodness. Wipe away my tears and fill me with gladness.
In Jesus matchless name I pray.
Amen.
