GOD, THE SOURCE OF JOY
Stella Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved,
The Bible says, The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). The Lord wants to give us this heavenly joy. The Bible too says, Be joyful always (I Thessalonians 5:16).
Life is not a bed of roses; we have to pass through many problems and that is why the Lord Jesus said, In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). I overcame all the sufferings that you are going through. Look up to Me. I will give you all the blessings that you desire. Let not your heart be troubled even amidst these problems.
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you (Isaiah 54:10).
After our marriage, when we decided to do ministry for the Lord as a family, problems cropped up one after the other. First I had a miscarriage; next, I had a still born child; many wondered why this was happening to us. Even in that state of brokenness, we looked to the Lord Jesus. He never forsook us; He blessed us again with two children.
Fifty two years have passed and all those who made fun of us are drawn to the Lord Jesus one by one. Today, they are a great support to our family in the ministry and are sustaining us with their prayers. What a joy! The only reason that we are still blessed even amidst so many problems is the pledge we made with God in the beginning.
Many young girls, though they have committed themselves to the Lord, give room for their self-will when it comes to choosing their life partners. Alas, when problems assail them, they lose heart.
Commit your life into the hands of God and He will choose the right life partner for you. This world is full of pain and pleasure indeed. Divine peace, love and joy will fill us when we glorify God under all circumstances. He Himself is able to remove all the obstacles that come across our ways and also remove our shortcomings. Let us confess our inadequacies before Him. He will make us live joyously when we honour Him and live a life glorifying the Almighty God in our personal and family lives.
The Bible says, Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4). Fellowship with God brings true joy. When you rejoice in His presence, He will remove your problems and fill you with His blessings.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
You are the source of true joy. I trust in You to solve my problems and look to You for help. Help me to abide in You and rejoice in Your presence. Please remove my problems and give me the blessings I desire.
In Your matchless name I pray,
Amen.
