HOLY SPIRIT, OUR COMFORTER!
Samuel Paul Dhinakaran
My dear friends,
In God's presence, there is fullness of joy. He comforts our broken hearts. He knows the paths we are going through in our life, the worries in our heart, our agony, weaknesses and everything. We read in the Bible, that in His presence there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11).
When the Holy Spirit comes in you, you can experience heavenly joy (Romans 14:17). Or else, you cannot talk to Jesus and have fellowship with Him. So, it is very important that you are filled with the Holy Spirit. When the joy of Christ comes in your heart, through the Holy Spirit, you will forget the place where you are, forget the people who are around you and forget all the worries, fears and problems that make you miserable. This is because you would be fully united to God. Your eyes will start looking not at your problems but at God alone. By turning your eyes towards Jesus, the Holy Spirit comforts you (Matthew 11:28). He brings hope in you (Joshua 1:5).
Call unto the Holy Spirit; He will fill you, turn your heart towards God, the healer (Psalm 50:15, 23; 121:1; Jeremiah 33:3). He will grant you the deliverance which Jesus earned on the cross by suffering which removes bondages and destroys the powers of darkness (Colossians 2:13-15; II Corinthians 3:17). Having been caught up by the powers of darkness, Saul was languishing, losing his peace and joy. That time, when David, who was filled with the presence of God, came, played music and sang praises to God, the distressing spirit left Saul and he became refreshed and well (I Samuel 16: 23). When we give room for the Holy Spirit, this restfulness fills our heart. The works of darkness and evil spirits that torment us will leave us. It is the Holy Spirit, who takes us ashore. When He is in us, He comforts us and leads us in heavenly paths.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus Christ,
I praise and thank You from the depth of my heart for all the goodness which You have bestowed upon me. I praise You for having guarded me as the apple of Your eye. I firmly believe that in Your presence there is fullness of joy. Your presence manifests Your glory. On this day, help me to praise You whole-heartedly for I know that this is Gods will concerning me to receive the fullness of joy. Give me the grace to rejoice always in You.
In Your matchless name I pray.
Amen.
