PATIENCE, A DIVINE VIRTUE
Stella Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved,
It is necessary to be patient to live a peaceful and happy family life. Let me explain to you on how to follow this and receive divine blessings through that. The Bible says in Luke 21:19, "By your patience possess your souls.
Patience is a divine virtue. Some people possess it by nature. The Almighty God will grant the grace to even those who do not possess it to receive it in their lives. This divine virtue called patience comes into us through the power of God. This is explained in II Peter 1:5-8.
God has created the way of salvation for us through the Lord Jesus Christ. Anger, annoyance and arguments will be seen in our lives when we live in this world without this divine virtue, patience.
The Bible says, When perfection comes, the imperfect disappears (I Corinthians 13:10). According to this verse, we should know that for our sake, the Lord Jesus Christ suffered and purchased salvation for us by carrying all our shortcomings on the cross. We should confess them in the presence of God and plead to Him saying, O, God have mercy on me. He will completely forgive us and give us a new life and new grace (II Corinthians 5:17). He will also come and stay with us. He will make us His own saying I am your Father; you are My children (II Corinthians 6:18). He will walk in our midst.
In the same way, we read in the Bible about the unpleasant old lives of certain people getting transformed upside down and becoming renewed. For example, Jacobs early life was filled with jealousy and deceit. But after God chose him, good deeds and qualities pleasing to Him were seen in him. He grants this to everyone without any discrimination.
The Scripture says, For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified (Romans 8:29,30).
Dearly beloved, have you received this divine touch and a life of living in union with God? Then His image will also be seen in you. The virtue called patience will come into you.
The Bible says, Indeed we count them blessed who endure (James 5:11). When you continue to trust in the goodness of God and patiently wait for Him, His richest blessings will come in search of you.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
You suffered on the Cross to grant us salvation and a holy life. I seek Your divine forgiveness. Please cleanse me with Your blood and grant me Your divine forgiveness. Accept me as Your own and renew my life. Impart Your divine qualities to me and change me into Your likeness.
In Your matchless name I pray,
Amen.
