RECEIVING GODS PROMISES
Stella Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved,
Why are promises necessary in our lives? How to find them?
Promise is the word that God directly speaks to us, and unless the Bible is carefully read every day, it can never be found. So dearly beloved, how is your Bible reading? Just think awhile. Try to read as much as possible out of fear for God. You need to have a thirst and desire for that and only then the power of the Lord will come upon you. The Lord will command blessings exceedingly more than all that you think or ask. This is the glorious privilege and blessing that you can obtain for yourself by holding on to His promises and claiming them as your own.
Let us meditate on how Abraham, one of the servants of God in the Bible, received and claimed the promises for himself and inherited blessings through that.
We read about this in the 4th chapter of Romans. Abraham had no child till he was 99 years old, and his wife Sarah too had crossed the age of child bearing. Look at the faith of Abraham in such a situation! He believed that God would change all those things which do not exist as though they did (Romans 4:17) and confessed it as well. Moreover, as we read in Romans 4:21, he was fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. At the same time, he began to give glory to God and so his faith increased.
Finally, the childless couple Abraham and Sarah had the privilege of becoming parents to Isaac! Even in unpleasant situations where unexpected things happen, when we receive the promises given in the Bible and claim them for ourselves with faith, God will perform those things that we consider impossible according to His promise.
The Bible says,
All the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us (2 Corinthians 1:20). God is faithful to His word; none of His promises will ever fail. Trust in His faithfulness and claim them with faith. Everyone of His promise will be certainly fulfilled in your life.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
You have given us Your promises of blessing in the Bible. I hold on to them and claim your promises as my own. I believe that You are able to do the impossible so I confess Your Words with faith. Help me to obtain Your glorious blessings.
In Your matchless name I pray,
Amen.
