SEEK THE LORD EARLY
Paul Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved,
The Book of Judges in the Bible relates the struggle of the Israelites under the hands of the Midianites. At that time, God appointed a young man called Gideon to set them free from their enemies.
Gideon and his men prepared themselves to face their enemies. The Bible says, Early in the morning, Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon) and all his men camped at the spring of Harod (Judges 7:1). Likewise, God wants us to rise up early in the morning and meet Him every day.
The Psalmist prays to God saying, O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You (Psalm 63:1).
As the Psalmist thus says, rise up early in the morning and seek the Lords presence; read the Bible. He will speak to you, and early in the morning, He will reveal you the blessings of that respective day. Utter the promises of God, confess them and get deliverance from the weaknesses or the conflicts brought by the devil that come against you.
When Gideon rose up early in the morning, the Lord told him to reduce the number of men in his army. Otherwise, they will boast that they won because of their strength. Thus, the Lord went ahead of Gideon and gave him victory.
The Lord will be with you when you too get up early in the morning and be prepared. He will give you the counsel required for the day and also go ahead of you.
When you draw close to God and seek His presence continually, He will give you divine guidance at all times. His presence will go before you and give you success in everything (Proverbs 8:17).
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
You are my Counselor. Help me to seek You early in the morning every day and receive new mercies from You. Grant me Your divine guidance all through the day. Bless all my efforts and grant me success in all that I do.
In Your matchless name I pray,
Amen.
