THE GLORIOUS PRESENCE OF GOD!
Paul Dhinakaran
My dear beloved,
God's presence comes through our praise. Hebrews 13:15 says, "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess His name."
Some years back, two preachers came to meet a servant of God and stayed in his house. Those two preachers used to chat with everyone and waste their time in vain gossip. Once, at the dining table, they were blaming other people and brought accusation on everyone around. Then the host asked them, "What do other people speak about me?" The two gossip mongers spoke out a lot of false things about the servant of God. They expected the servant of God to jump up in fury and throw them out of his house. But he kept on saying, "Praise be to God" and looked at the two preachers and said, "Beloved friends would you please stay in the next room for a while? Let me remain alone in this room and examine my life in the presence of God. I do not want to give so called fitting replies to all the accusations levelled against me by other people. Let me study my life and identify whether the allegations are true. If so let me reconcile with God.
When they left the room, the servant of God humbled himself before God. The presence of God filled him. He began to praise and adore God. The divine presence and the heavenly glory filled him. "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" (Matthew 12:34) says the Bible. According to that truth, he began to converse with God. The two gossip mongers, listened to all these and they began to tremble! They fell before him and begged pardon. They also felt the presence of God. On that day, they were transformed and became faithful servants of God!
Yes my dear friend! The strength and power to praise and exalt God is always present in our tongues. Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. (Psalm 34:13). When you offer praises to God, you will be filled with His immense presence. Praise attracts the presence of God. Approach God with a humble spirit and let His praise always be on your lips. No matter what or who rise against you, His presence will guard and lead you.
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I am so blessed to have an Almighty God who is worthy of my praises. Lord, forgive me for ignoring Your wonderful love and fixing my eyes on things around me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit who will enable me to be a conqueror in my life over all things. Let Your praises always be on my lips. Thank You for making me Victorious!
In Your matchless Name, I pray,
Amen.
