TRUE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
Paul Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved,
Loving God is to obey His commandments.
We read in Jeremiah 12:2: You (God) have planted them, and they have taken root; they grow and bear fruit. You are always on their lips but far from their hearts.
My father Dr. D.G.S Dhinakaran once received a prayer request which read thus: Please pray for the Leader of our church who is very much ill. My father who loved pastors and ministers of God deeply right away offered an intercessory prayer, but could not feel the presence of the Holy Spirit at all!
Mighty deeds can happen only if the Holy Spirit descends! Hence my father prayed intensely once again. The Lord appeared and said, What are you trying to do? There is no relationship between him and Me. Though he presents himself as a good pastor, his life is not in line with my expectations. Dont request anything for his sake!
So what is the real image we present before God, in reality? We might have been called by God-we might be doing His ministry- we might be proclaiming His great deeds, magnificence and mighty works. But do our heart and mind appear before Him as He really expects them to be? Yes, always, the righteous God searches minds and hearts (Psalm 7:9). Especially, when He does us good, He examines our minds and hearts.
The Bible states,
The blameless will inherit good (Proverbs 28:10). We can have true fellowship with God only when we follow His commands given in the Bible. Then as His children, we can boldly go into His presence in prayer and claim all the promises as given in the Bible and receive them.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I love You with all my heart and resolve to live for You. Please help me to abide in You and follow Your commands. Help me to lead a life pleasing to You so that I can claim all Your promises and obtain rich blessings from You.
In Your matchless name I pray,
Amen.
