WAIT UPON THE LORD
Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved,
Blessed are those who wait upon the Lord.
What it is to wait upon the Lord? It is not only fasting and praying but staying in His presence, remembering Him all through the day and waiting for His word. When we thus wait on Him, the Lord will give us the strength to rise above our problems just as the eagle mounts up and soars high on it wings.
This is what David the Psalmist said: Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long (Psalm 25:5). He praised God saying, My tongue will speak of Your righteousness and of Your praises all day long (Psalm 35:28). I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth (Psalm 34:1). He waited in the presence of the Lord all through the day saying, Lead me in Your truth and teach me.
The Lord will give you strength when you think of the good things that He did for you and praise Him. His benefits will come in search of you. David said, Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life
(Psalm 23:6). He could say that because he was praising God at all times. Hence goodness and mercy followed him all the days of his life.
How to wait upon the Lord? Let us meditate for a while on what benefits He will give when we wait upon Him?
David said, I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry (Psalm 40:1). The Lord hears us and says, Oh, how My child loves Me; whatever may be his/her difficulties, he/she asks me with so much of patience when we wait patiently on Him.
Some sisters would ask me, Sister, how long should I pray like this? A sister known to me once said to me, So many years have gone by and still my daughter is single. I have been praying to the Lord for her for a long time. There is no answer from Him
When we patiently wait on the Lord, He will give us the answer.
The Bible says,
Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). As you wait for God, you will receive a fresh supply of strength to rise above the disappointments and obstacles of life. You will not have any fear concerning your future. You will move forward with the faith that Christ will take care of everything concerning your life.
Yes! According to your faith, God will bless you at the appointed time.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I wait at Your feet in prayer. I remember Your blessings and praise You wholeheartedly. Give me the strength to rise above the challenges of life and walk in faith. Bless me at the appointed time. Let Your goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life.
In Your matchless name I pray,
Amen.
