My precious friend, I greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Today, we are going to meditate on a beautiful promise verse found in Psalm 121:2 which says, “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” What a bold declaration of confidence in the goodness of God!
The Word assures you, today that help will come certainly because it will come from the Lord Who made heaven and earth. But for the Lord’s divine help to come, we have to inculcate obedience. No matter the age, we ought to obey God, our parents and our elders and lead a righteous life by fulfilling the will of God. The Lord who sees your humble and obedient heart will be pleased to send you help at the right time. Let us look at the life of Jacob. In Genesis chapter 28, we see how Jacob implicitly obeys his parents to set on a journey to his uncle’s place. But Jacob did not have anything in his hand at that time and he didn’t know anything about his uncle or the place his uncle lived in. Yet he obeyed his parents. God was pleased with his obedient heart and gave Jacob a vision assuring him that He was with Him throughout his journey. The Lord fulfilled Jacob’s needs more than he had expected. By the time Jacob returned to his place, he was blessed by the Lord in double-fold measure (Genesis 28:16-22).
This same God is alive today and He is with you like He was with Jacob. My friend, I would implore you to have an obedient heart – obedient to the statutes of the Lord, obedient to your parents and elders. Ephesians 6:1-3 clearly mentionsthe blessings that would follow an obedient heart. My friend, God wants to miraculously supply all your needs. You can receive all of God’s abundant blessings when you lead a life of obedience unto God and the elders. May God grant you this grace, today and bless you!
Prayer:
Precious Lord, thank You forYour beautiful promise.Lord, I pray that You will grant me a heart of obedience just like Jacob. Help me to abide by Your sovereign will and value my elder’s instructions. Lord, only You are able to supply my needs, carry my burdens and bless me abundantly. My help comes from You alone. I trust You completely that You will deliver me and bless me in double-fold measure. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
