God says, 'He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds' (Psalm 147:3). Beloved, do not feel that you are alone during troubled situations. Jesus never leaves you nor forsakes you. He is with you ready to wipe away your tears and change your situation. “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit” says the Lord (Isaiah 57:15). When you face tribulations and when you call upon the Lord, He will turn His face towards you and will answer that prayer. How does He answer your prayer? He sends His word and heals your wounds. That is the healing that comes from the Lord.
Many years ago my mother died. After her death, when I woke up on one particular morning I was filled with sorrow and I started to cry instead of praying. But, after a while, I took the Bible and started to read the word of God. At that time God gave me a word and it says, 'But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus' (1 Thessalonians 4:13). And this word comforted me. It healed my broken heart. It was a soothing balm to my wounds.
In the same way when you are in deep sorrow, God will send His word to heal your broken heart as He did for me. Do not be dismayed, for He is your comforter. There is no better healing balm other than the word of God. It not only heals you but restores you! Trust in Jesus who will transform all your losses into gain. All of His promises are for you as you are His child. Claim them and be set free.
Prayer:
Loving heavenly Father, I bring my heart-sinking condition into Your mighty healing presence. I cannot bear this pain anymore. I cannot tolerate my troubles and the wounding words by people anymore. But, I believe in Your word that promises You will heal my broken heart. Lord, remove all the shame and weariness. Wipe away my tears. Prepare a table before my enemies and exalt me for Your name sake. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
