THE
BEGINNING
The first Good News meeting was held in Vellore, India,
in 1970. Nearly 200 people attended. Then at a 1971, Erode, India, Good News
Festival organized by the Church of South India, the ministry of late Dr. D.G.S
Dhinakaran got its name Jesus Calls.
Soon according to the divine plan of God, the territories of Jesus Calls
spread. People from all parts of India invited Dr. Dhinakaran to minister in
their meetings. This humble beginning (of the Jesus Calls public meetings)
spread far and wide throughout India and around the world.
TODAY
Jesus Calls conducts several Prayer Festivals across the world. Over 500,000 people attended one such Prayer Festival in Ranchi, India, just to experience the miraculous touch of Jesus. The expense to conduct a Prayer Festival for the multitudes to gather in one place for a crusade is huge. Expenses are incurred from the publicity, ground hiring charges for the stage, lighting, and PA systems, etc.
Having a live webcast of these prayer festivals through the Jesus Calls website and/or local TV channels will also be a blessing to those who cannot attend in person.
